    We Haines Port Development Counci LLC. & Haines & Yukon Railway LLC. were glad to meet with Governor Bill Walker Thursday afternoon August 6, 2015. We met at the Chilkoot Indian Assocation offices.It was a great meeting we spent over an hour gong over potential development of our port. Governor Walker is very supportive of what we are doing. Also joining us was Brian MacDonald President of Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce.

    Haines port facilities offer a unique, secure port-of-refuge linked to the interior by a strategic industrial highway.  Its port facilities are zoned for marine industry.  Haines is ideally situated as a full-service minerals and gas transshipment port. Kensington Gold Mine, operated by Coeur Alaska with an expected life of at least 20 years. Juneau, Capital City of the State of Alaska. Greens Creek Mine, very large mixed metals mine with long expected operational life. Palmer Project under extensive exploration by Constantine Metals Resources. Massive Sulfide deposit with Copper, Zinc, Gold, Silver 33 miles from tidewater at Haines. Skagway major cruise ship port also important minerals transshipment facilities. Highway and narrow guage railroad connections to the interior. Whitehorse capital city of the Yukon, Canada. Regional business center on the Alcan Highway. Minto copper-gold-silver mine in Yukon, Canada an open pit mine with a 10 year life at current estimates but possibly more.  Looking at Skagway and possibly Haines for transshipment. Casino mine in Yukon, Canada is owned by Western Copper and Gold Corporation. It is one of the world's largest open-pit gold, copper, silver and molybdenum deposits with an expected 30 year life. Could look to Haines for transshipment. Wellgreen Mine in Yukon, Canada is owned by Prophecy Platinum. Rich in platinum group metals, nickel and copper.  Located near Burwash Landing airstrip and Alcan Highway looking at Haines for transshipment of materials and ore. Dawson Mining District Yukon, Canada hosts numerous mining projects any of which could look to Haines for transshipment. Selwyn Mine, Eastern Yukon, Canada.  Massive Lead-Zinc-Silver deposit. In operation it would be the largest of its kind in the world. A 50:50 Joint Venture with Yunnan Chihong Zinc and Germanium Co. Ltd. Chihong  based in Yunnan Province, China. Looking at Skagway and Haines for transshipment. Valdez, Alaska terminus of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline and possible gasline terminus and LNG port. Anchorage, Alaska business capital of the state. Nikiski, Alaska Kenai LNG Export Terminal. Only LNG liquifaction and export terminal in operation in North America.  Five others in planning stages currently, three on the coast of British Columbia and two in the U.S. Inside Passage, sheltered shipping lane on the Northwest Coast. British Columbia, Canada. Numerous mineral prospects. Large Natural Gas reserves planning three LNG terminals on the coast including one at Price Rupert. Fort Nelson, B.C., Canada - LNG liquifaction plant in planning stages. Kitimat, B.C., Canada - LNG export port with liquifaction plants in planning stages. First Nations consortium may have LNG export deliveries by 2017. Base map by infomine.com.
